Properties:
Technical product is white powder. M.p. 200℃, V.p. negligible. Soluble in water, and insoluble in common organic solvents. Stable up to 60℃. Stable to light.
Uses:
Effective on deep-rooted perennial species, and annual and biennial species of grasses, sedges and broad-leaved weeds. Used in fruit orchards, vineyards, conifer plantations, and many plantation crops; in cereal stubble; and in pasture renovation. Also used for pre-harvest desiccation of cotton, cereals, peas, beans, etc.; for destruciton of rye sown to prevent wind erosion of the soil; for control of suckers on fruit trees, and for aquatic weed control. Glyphosate-sesquisodium is used as a plant growth regulator on sugarcane.
Toxicity:
Acute oral LD50 for rats is 5600mg/kg.
